4-actuator bench (testing on complete vehicles)
Installed inside an environmental chamber that can create environments at temperatures of between -30°C and + 50°C, and covered with noise-absorbent cladding, this simulator is capable of reproducing the vertical stresses applied to vehicles when driven on roads.
This road simulator is used for the following activities:
- Using the CERAM tracks or road profiles registered on our customers’ premises worldwide, we can perform accelerated ageing tests on body shells and/or suspension components. Our teams carry out tests whose repeatability can be guaranteed (thanks to the MTS RPC™ specialist software program), followed by a complete and meticulous analysis of the test results.
- Vibro-acoustic structural analysis and the identification of spurious noise in the passenger compartment make this a complete investigative tool to be used from the preliminary design phases onwards.
- Characterisation of suspension in terms of comfort and behaviour, allowing for the verification of the options of theoretical calculations and the reduction of set-up time on the track. Vehicle dynamics specialists can immediately compare their impressions of driving the vehicle with the test results supported by data.
Suspension test rig
- Application: Private vehicles and motor sports vehicles (single-seaters, prototypes, WRC, GT, etc.)
- Modal excitations (swept sinewave signals) for surging, pitching, rolling and torsion
- Track reproduction
- Simulation of aerodynamic loads via pneumatic actuators
- Acquisition of forces under wheels and due to accelerations: platform bodies, wheels and chassis, shock absorber travel, etc.

With its vast 40 m slab and ceiling height of 5 metres, this facility can accommodate the most varied range of assemblies.
These assemblies are made to measure in order to subject the assembled structural elements, such as engine cradles, axles, seats, dashboards, etc., to alternating forces and vibrations. These are essential analytical tools for design offices and Research & Design departments. Designs can be validated within several days or up to a maximum of several weeks.
Component unit test benches (component unit testing)
An essential tool for the validation of component units.
A methodology for the systematic testing of components, combined with a statistical analysis of reliability (Weibull’s curve, failure analysis, etc.), can support the work of designers at both prototype and mass-production stages.
More than 25 actuators and control channels can be configured in a “made-to-measure” service.
